Weight loss is simple math. Amount of what you take in vs what you discard in terms calories, waste etc. is what you gain or lose. If the result is positive you are gaining weight if it negative you are part of the minorority that is successful in dropping weight. So basically there are three essential components of weight loss.

2. what you discard
3. what you burn
if you can control all three elements weightloss is child play (easier said than done) for you. If you have control of atleast one of these, naturally or otherwise, you have somewhat grasp of the sitaution. If you have no control over any of these three elements, you are one of the approximately 90 million americans who are considered obese.
First of these elements i steh most critical one. It all starts with what you eat and then it works from there. If you are eating balanced healthy food, your body metabolism, bowel movement and mental stress level , in most cases, is under control and yo tend to achieve weight loss results faster than someone who eats unhealthy and is trying to loose weight. There is however no quick weight loss recipe and it takes time and patience to achive results. Quick weight loss mostly come with a price in the long run which you can not afford to pay.
